Causes of Diabetes and What You can do about Them
Diabetes is becoming more common every day. For examples you only need to look at your own social circle. There is a good chance that at least one person in your circle has diabetes. And if not, then they either know or are related to someone who has it. It is becoming incredibly common both in the western world and elsewhere. Type 1 and Type 2 are the names of the types of diabetes. Type 1 is insulin dependent. You can develop this type at any time in your life. Because it occurs in adulthood, type 2 is also called adult onset diabetes and those with it are not insulin dependent. Some of the major causes of this condition are covered here.
Gender isn’t something you can actually take control of (unless it’s a superficial case), though it can also be one of the root causes of Type 1 and 2 Diabetes. Men are more likely to contract diabetes than women are. Unluckily, you can’t actually do anything about this. Although, if you are a man, you need to be more watchful for signs of the disease and need to be paying attention to the elements of your lifestyle that could cause the disease to take place in your body. Be watchful! Without a doubt, women should continue keeping an eye out (but not quite as much).
Genetics can be a major factor when we talk about Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes, also known as non-insulin dependent diabetes can take place for a variety of reasons, however genetics is perhaps a major influence. If you have higher generations that suffered from diabetes, statistics show that you are more likely to contract it than an individual who doesn’t have higher generations who suffered from it. If your parents or grandparents were struck with adult onset diabetes, keep an eye out! Keep an eye on your diet and other environmental factors that can cause the disease. You might not be able to restrict it in its entirety, but you can for sure fight against it.
Do you consume a lot of fatty foods? Quit that! Diets that mainly consist of fatty foods are a leading cause for diabetes. This is one of a great many reasons your physician will tell you to rid yourself of the fatty foods in your diet.
No matter what, fatty food is horrible for you. It can bestow weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and now we’re aware that it can also cause diabetes. Snacking from time to time won’t make the disease happen. Consuming poor quality meals frequently, though, could be the biggest determine factor between being healthy and becoming a diabetic.
Diabetes is an easy disease to take care of. Some people have an ability to manage it with their diet. We are also now aware that the cause for most diabetes is something we can discipline.
It wasn’t very long ago that medical professional didn’t think there was much that could be done to stop the disease. It is now well known that maintaining a healthy lifestyle can often times be what you need to keep from having the disease take over in your body. Meet with your medical professional if you have further questions about any of the causes mentioned in this article.
