Are Stress And Hair Loss Related?

Is there a relationship between stress and hair loss? The effects of stress on the body are severe, and the relationship between stress and hair loss is something that bears additional research.

Stress And Daily Life

Experts agree that some stress in our lives is important. Without stress, no one would get out of bed, no one would go to work and no one would fulfill familial and social responsibilities. Unfortunately, too little stress is a problem that few people have. Most people have more than enough stress in their lives, and they want to reduce the risk of suffering health problems because of the stress in their daily lives. Problems like obesity and hair loss occur when stress gets out of control.

There is no doubt that stress affects a number of conditions related to health. Hypertension, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, obesity and hair loss are all stress related health conditions.

Relieving Stress

Taking steps now to relieve the stress in your everyday life will help alleviate the negative effects of stressful physical conditions. Try to add one or more of these stress relief techniques to your life.

Aromatherapy. Surrounding yourself with subtly scented candles and herbal fragrances will relieve your stress level and raise your enemy level. Different scents have different functions. The smell of lavender represents balance, while the smell of citrus is virtually guaranteed to generate energy.

Exercise. Getting thirty or more minutes of aerobic exercise four times a week or more will do a great deal to alleviate stress levels. There is something about working out at levels that make you sweat and raise your heart rate that is good for your entire cardiovascular system, including your stress levels.

Meditation. Learn to manage your thoughts, either through meditation, imagery or some other mind-over-matter methodology. Some people, when confronted with negative thoughts, actually make an appointment to worry about something. By scheduling the worry into a time slot, and acknowledging that worry can be positive if it is used to analyze a problem and plan a solution to it, these people find that their problems are more manageable.

Hair loss and stress both have a substantial impact on the way most people act and feel throughout the day. Whether you focus on aromatherapy, add yoga to your daily routine or set aside time for meditation before you begin your day, relieving your stress will help you keep more of your hair.
