What Can Treat the Swine Flu Virus?

Most people have heard a lot about the swine flu virus lately, although there has been a cause for concern, if you stay well informed and do your best to protect yourself, the swine flu might not be such a big threat. Where did all of this come from? Typically, the swine flu is not passed to humans and remains among pigs, but occasionally it can cross to humans and is spread from person to person.

Do treatments work for swine flu?
Depending on what kind of treatments used, there have been some that show positive results in treating the virus. Antiviral treatments are showing a lot of promise and are administered by a doctor once a patient has been diagnosed with the swine flu virus. In order to diagnose the virus properly, the doctor needs to do a respiratory test that is sent to a lab and then confirmed whether or not the swine flu virus is present.

Do vitamins and natural treatments work on the swine flu virus?
People who choose to treat their symptoms with natural remedies such as using certain spices and eating certain foods believe that the naturally occurring antioxidants found in the food can ward off the virus. Other people may use a combination of natural treatments and medical treatments. This could include eating a well-balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables, getting plenty of rest and if they are diagnosed with the swine flu virus to take antiviral medications.

It is important to remember that the swine flu virus is contagious and spread from person to person. Infected people with the swine flu virus can start to infect other people one-day before they actually have symptoms of the virus, and then up to seven days or more after they have become sick with the virus. You are then able to pass on the flu virus to someone else before you even know that you are sick. So if you suspect that you are infected with the virus or know someone that may be, you should advise them to stay home and keep a sterile environment until the contagious stage is passed and the virus is gone.

It is a good idea to wash anything that the sick person came in contact with to make sure that the virus can not live on anything and infect someone else. One of the cheapest and easiest ways to continue to protect yourself from the swine flu virus is to use hand sanitizer and apply it after everywhere you go in a public place.
