The primary reason for yeast infection in most women is Candida Albicans, which is nothing but yeast that is seen in the vaginal region. Rapid growth of bacteria also becomes one of the main causes of yeast infection, and this is medically known as candidasis. The increase in growth of bacteria is because of the reduced immune system, and this can be due to increased stress level and lack of sleep. Even, the changes in the hormones during the end of the menstruation cycle can cause yeast infection. Most pregnant women experience yeast infection and some birth control activities also lead to this infection.

The yeast infection is also distributed to partners by means of semen or any other fluids through sex. Another major cause for yeast infection in most women is the heavy and prolonged usage of any kind of antibiotics. Person with very high glucose level or diabetic patients are highly affected with yeast infection, and this infection is caused by the uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Studies have revealed that antibiotics can suppress the good bacteria that control the yeast infection, and this leads to the rapid multiplication of yeast.

Poor eating habits, consuming junk foods like chips, not properly cleaning the vaginal area, increased sweating, and raised Ph level also increase the chances of getting yeast infection. Other possible causes for yeast infections are menopause, use of steroids such as Prednisone, bad hygienic system, use of perfumed sprays, injuries, and allergies. Sometimes, HIV and treatments given for cancer also lead to yeast infection, and these infections enter blood stream and brings severe other infections to human. Douching and cleaning from back to front can also affect the vaginal region, and this encourages yeast infection.
